Before Flying Back to the Earth

The film Before Flying Back to Earth (director Arūnas Matelis) will be available for viewing at the cinema center Coca-Cola Plaza from the 8^th of June.

The premiere of this film will take place on the 8^th of December, at 7.45 p.m. Before Flying Back to Earth is a lyric and ascetic essay about children with malignant diseases and their families.

This film received the Golden Dove award in the International Film Festival of Leipzig. It was nominated for the prestigious European Film Academy award as the Best European documentary of 2005. The film was also included in the competition program Silver Wolf of the Documentary Film festival of Amsterdam.

Arūnas Matelis, the author of the film:
All who end up in this hospital start their journey the same way. The same first examination, the same waiting, the same file of papers and a trip to the third floor. In the beginning, consciously or subconsciously, almost all of them try to avoid the third floor by getting lost in the labyrinth of corridors or even by pushing the wrong button of the elevator...

In this film you will see the children that you already know – Mantukas, Rytis, Julius and Edgaras, and other children – Andrius, Paula, Martynas, Deimantas and Pranas.
