The Christmas Support Initiative of AB Swedbank

In early December of 2010 we received an offer to participate in a Christmas support initiative implemented by AB Swedbank. The descriptions of 20 organizations, that were selected to participate in this initiative, were placed in the special section of the inner website of AB Swedbank. Every employee of AB Swedbank was entitled to use his/her vote for an organization of his/her choice. The amount of financial support for each organization depended on the number of votes. The employees voted from the 6^th to the 22^nd of December. The total amount of Christmas support was 381 600 Lt.

 

We were very glad to know that Rugutė was included in the list of twenty organizations, and that this new practice of distributing the support (when the employees decide where the support will go) is being used more often in Lithuania than it had been. Using this method of allowing one’s employees to select their organization of choice to donate to, enables the employees to more actively participate in their company’s charitable outreach program.

 

In the end of December we received a letter from AB Swedbank and learned that Rugutė scored 29 percent of all votes and came in first! This news was like a Christmas miracle to us.

and we say the most sincere thank you to all the employees who voted for Rugutė,
for their beautiful wish to help children with oncological diseases,
and for believing in our little Fighters’ future.
