The Bridge of Friendship Sweden-Lithuania

The bridge of friendship between Sweden and Lithuania continues to be build. On December 11-13 we were most happy to receive the special guests – Swedish elves. Five elves, as every year before Christmas, came to Lithuania with lots of gifts for the sick children in Lithuania. All the gifts were carefully selected and wrapped together with the most sincere wishes by the schoolchildren from Skane region of Sweden.

 

It is a pity, but because of the flu and the quarantine, elves could not visit children in the hospitals. However they made a special surprise to Rugutė’s children Aistė and Lukas. Specially dressed, singing Christmas carols and radiating the real feeling of approaching holidays our dear Swedish elves visited Aistė and Lukas at their homes.

 

All the other gifts for a short time were left with us - we made a promise to deliver them to the children in the hospitals when the epidemic of flu is over and also during the Christmas Journey of Rugutė’s elves.

 

We were very happy to have an opportunity to show our dear friends from Sweden a few places in Lithuania – Trakai, Kernavė and the old city of Vilnius. Our guests enjoyed the trip and promised to visit Lithuania again.

 

 

We send our most sincere thanks to the schoolchildren and other Skane people, who prepared all the beautiful gifts to the sick children in Lithuania.

 

We sincerely thank Stefan Espersson for the material support. Our special thanks also to the organizers and participants of the The Tour of Joy which was held in Sweden for collecting the support fund for the children with the malignant diseases in Lithuania.
