Children’s Wishes

One day a postman handed a large and heavy envelope to me.
 
I opened it carefully and pulled out children’s drawings, one by one. Some were decorated with hearts, flowers and butterflies, some depicted cartoon characters. Many of them had wishes written by children’s hands: May Sun always smile for you…, Hang in there and never give up…, I wish you a lot of health and a joy as big as all the flowers of the world…. Each picture beamed with pure, unconditional and sincere wishing to get well, and even with children’s certainty that their sick little fellows will definitely get well.

 

Leafing through the pictures I felt an incredible thrill, as if I was holding lots of tiny rays of sun in the palms of my hands…
